Can taking ibuprofen while on birth control mess it up?

:/ I don't think it's true, but my best friend said that taking Ibuprofen while I'm in the pill will mess up the pill and make it not work. Honestly, I don't think it's true. But I just want to make sure. Can it?Can taking ibuprofen while on birth control mess it up?
Taking antibiotics on the pill causes it to be less effective to the point that your partner needs to use a condom. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) drugs, like Ibuprofen, Motrin, Celebrex, etc., do not interfere with how your birth control works. Motrin is given to pretty much everyone for any complaint in the military and they don't want women getting pregnant...if NSAIDs reduced the effectiveness of the pill, they certainly wouldn't pass them out to women taking it.

Your birth control comes with a small booklet about how to take it, complications that can occur, and ways that the pill becomes less effective. Read through that so you can know from a more reliable source than just someone online :)Can taking ibuprofen while on birth control mess it up?
Ibuprofen is just fine while on the pill. It's an anti-inflammatory and has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the pill. Your friend is probably thinking about antibiotics, which do interfere with the pill and render it useless.
ryan is absolutely right.
