Ladies (pregnancy): How irritating is it to be labeled as fat/big or called fat/big by strangers when you have no control over it and your body is handling a human being?





I understand when it's the dad or a friend or family and they are saying it in a lovely/joking way, but when strangers are saying it with the underlying mean tone, how irritating is it?Ladies (pregnancy): How irritating is it to be called fat/big by strangers when you have no control over it?
I was just telling my husband how odd it is being pregnant. People all of a sudden think they can say things to you that would otherwise be considered rude. I think my favorite is, ';oh my goodness, you are so big!'; Well yes, I am 33 weeks pregnant. I would never say that to someone that was not pregnant. Why do you think it is ok to say it to someone because they are pregnant? It is never ok to say someone is big or fat. I prefer it when people say, ';You are just so pregnant!'; Now that is something that I can get behind. That is how I feel...just so pregnant now :-) It gives a much more positive spin to the whole weight gain thing.Ladies (pregnancy): How irritating is it to be called fat/big by strangers when you have no control over it?
I don't remember anyone ever saying anything to me like that, but then I only gained 6-7 lbs. I don't think it would have bothered me, when I was pregnant I was oblivious to the world around me. I found pregnancy to be the most fantastical stage of my life, the state of being with child was just incredible to me, I was in constant amazement of my body and all of the changes going on.
It is very frustrating and hurtful when people say. ';You are getting so big!'; It's rude. Pregnant women know they are getting big- they don't need people reminding them. Also- what if the woman really isn't pregnant? After a woman gives birth the stomach doesn't go away immediately and when people say- ';Oh when are you due'; they are REALLY being rude. People need to mind their own business, keep their mouth shut and forget about it and move on with their own lives.
I was really big when I was pregnant with my son, and I really looked funny because I am very small framed woman. I hated when people would ask if there were twins in there. I would say ';no, just one big baby'; and these fools would insist that I was having more than one baby! What fools, don't they think my doctors would have told me if I was going to have twins! Come on!
Well I'd just say right back: ';I'm pregnant, what's your excuse?';





Because that answers why you are ';fat'; and it question's what their excuse is for being unintelligent. Plus for some superficial people they will start to wonder if you are saying they look fat.
People call me a fat a$$ all the time and i say i worked hard to become pregnant and get fat , i'd like to know your secret and i know but i'm sure it's just one to many cheeseburgers.

I hated when people said ';You look like you're about to pop!';. Some people are just rude.
Your'e pregnant, ppl will comment on your size. When you're pregnant u must get big, right? So what r u crying about?
